Share the Gift of AnimaGlen Ellyn Children’s Chorus with Children for Years to Come

What a time for Anima-Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus to celebrate its 55th Anniversary season – virtual rehearsals, postponed performances, a truly new reality. But, through it all, we know we would not be celebrating this milestone without you!

If you are anything like us, over the past few months, it has been difficult to get excited about much. However, we have some wonderful news for to share with you.

Anima – Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus received a very generous Matching Gift of $100,000 from the parents of a Chorus alumnus.

Our Challenge Progress

How will Anima use the money raised in this Challenge?

General Operating Needs

Charles Sundquist, Lori Boyer, Sally Hepler, and the rest of the Anima staff continue to re-invent how to engage with ensembles through Zoom meetings, YouTube videos and more. The longer the pandemic continues the more joyful music needs to be shared. These funds will allow Anima to continue to thrive and engage musically with our students – at a time when we need music most.

Give gift of Anima to all those who want to participate in our 55 years of traditions – Great music, unique opportunities for young singers to experience the joy of singing, the ability to work with great teachers, self-expression, professionalism, teamwork, and a life enriching experiences.

“Bronzeville Boys and Girls” Commission

This exciting commission, in partnership with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, combines the poetry of Poet Laureate Gwendolyn Brooks and music composed by famed Chicago based composer Augusta Read Thomas. We are excited for the world premiere of the commission in April 2021 and hope it helps to strengthen Anima’s reputation for excellence well beyond Glen Ellyn.
